At start of the film we here the consist noise of cars driving past but we don't see the cars till later on .t almost seems as a preface to what is about to happen in three colours of blue ,like when the oil is dripping from the car in a audible sound to the audience but obviously not the characters ,this is the connotations in action.moving further on in the film I see cars rushing past with open speed ,,the lights also dimes and it seemed as though that created the saying 'the calm before the storm ',it foreshadowed that unexpected event to happen.during the course of the film the car slows and we still see the family on the high way ,the noise of the cars is left behind and the camera does a close up on the child, her dad gets out of the car and starts to stretch ,he looks tired and as if he had travelled far .The camera also concentrates on this to tell the audience that this is yet another sign to why the crash happened .
Once they come out of the tunnel the girl runs out on the hill ,her mother calls for her to come back in but she doesn't until later ,and then there is the loud but subtle denotational sound of a boy playing with his toy .it was as though the first three minuets of the movie were a ticking time bomb ,the calm at the beginning and then the increasing non-diegetic noise that we here from the running petrol and toy clicking .This all prepares us for the last 2 minuets of the film ,the crash .Once the boy manages to get his 'hole in one' the car rigorously crashes in to the tree and the beach ball drops out rolling on to the ground .There is a scream and the boy playing with the ball rushes to aid the people, all of these small events were connected to the preface of the stage centred noises that we here in the film .
A great start Yasmin.

ebi - be careful that you check your work afterwards to ensure that it makes sense. Also try and include appropriate media terminology throughout and use this in the denotation before moving on to the connotations. Making clear links between these is important.
