Amelie is a French film about an innnocent and naive girl ,with her own sense of justice ,decides to help those around her and along the way discovers love .Amelie's father ,as a child had never let her see many people because of mistaken concerns of a heart defect .This leads her to create her own fantasy world of love and beauty, later on in her life she becomes a waitress in Paris after finding a lost treasure belonging to the former occupant of her apartment ,she decides to return to him .after seeing his reaction she had promised herself he would devote her time into making her customers lives better .
The genre is romance and the audience is targeted to this because of the relation some of them have with it .At the beginning of the opening scene we see how amelie is being born ,the visual area of the movie was bold and bright ,possibly signifying how her personality will eventually be presented .the audio of the opening scene is French music and that sets the mood and tone for the audience ,it tells them they are currently watching a movie that is set in Paris .There is a child at the very beginning and we see that she is growing in a fast pace ,with colours getting bolder and movements of the child (amelie) quickening as well .It shows us her imaginative side to her mind and lets the audience in on how colour filled her life later on as a young woman is going to become .this particular movie stands out to me and the audience because of the fact that the film re-represents just how life can be bold and beautiful and spontaneous and the genre is romance ,so most people are drawn to that fact .
my second film is Little women ,the film focuses on the march sisters growing up in concard Massachusetts during the american civil war. With there father gone to war ,the girls struggle with major and minor problems under the wisdom of there strong headed mother .As a means of escaping some of there problems the sisters result to performing in romantic plays written by (Jo) in there attic theatre .The genre of the film is 'coming of age' drama ,and at the beginning of the film we see how the sisters are being represented together,as they ice skate at winter along the town lake .The film is shot in colour despite the american civil war era ,the first few minuets we view the joyful atmosphere of children laughing and playing around , giving the audience a taste of the film progressing to that nature .The actors and actresses are dressed in olden day clothes of the american civil war time ,as everyone in the scene rushes towards carriages and gets on with daily life .There seems to be some sort of uniqueness out the march women and how they have fun and let go as we see in the 'winter wonderland' opening scene .
my third film is Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind couple decide to erase each other out of there memories in order to re-discover each other again in hope to rekindal there romance .The opening scene shows us the lead character abruptly running in a train station full of packed people all hurried to get to the train .The scene then drifts off to a beach ,with a gloomy atmospheric centre ,grey clouds and dark waters are clear to attract the audience that there may not be too much excitement in the first scene .In the next 1 minuet images are thrown into the lead man's face ,they appear to be bold coloured with pictures of a lover or family .This suggest to us that the audience is seeing first hand flash backs of his past (memories ).The audio for the first scene is quiet and drifting ,while everyone is then seated in a cafe, the lights are dim and are know centre staged characters present ,but they are blurred out .
excellent film choices, all varied and worth examination.
